Love the game. Dictionary can be improved. Doesnt recognize some common words

This is a great app. The only question I have is...what dictionary is used to determinine word validity. I am amazed at which words are not accepted...words which are in common dictionaries.

I would like this more if it followed the same dictionary as Scrabble. There are some pretty weird words in this game.

So glad to have it on my phone now. Hard to go back to straight Scrabble type games after this!

This the best word game app! If you like Scrabble, you will love this! I have given up Scrabble, in fact. Upwords is much more challenging and more fun. The app itself is excellent. The feature which lights up to confirm a word is a huge help. Well worth the small charge to upgrade. Do it!

I LOVE UpWords and I love the new UpWords app. The sounds are cool, the tiles easy to read, quick notification that the word you so creatively tried to play isnt even a word. This is my new favorite game. Thanks a bunch.

This has been a favorite game of mine for a very long time. Whether I am playing with friends or be matched with opponents by Upwards, the games can go as quickly or slowly as needed. I have always been matched with people of equal ability and game speed and for me thats a real plus

My wife and I always have a game going, and playing against the AI is fun, too. Beating Hal is an accomplishment if you can manage it.

Much better way to waste time than Spider Solitaire!

I cant go to bed without playing my wordgames, and UPWORDS is a fave. However, it would be nice to have a timed game options, as well as nudge and forced forfeit feature similar to scrabble. Just saying ...

I play this with my family in Europe, we were getting a little bored with scrabble. I especially like how with one placed tile scores can be reversed. Makes for an exciting game. One star less, because some accepted words are a little suspect.

Notifications of a pending turn could be better. Also, too many times Ive tried to play a word that is acceptable in Scrabble that is rejected as invalid in Upwords - frustrating. I do like the messaging feature and being able to play with others.

I rediscovered Upwords on a camping trip last year, and downloaded the app. I play a lot of scrabble using the Tournament Word Dictionary, which someone here decided to selectively edit for Upwords. Why remove perfectly legitimate words from a WORD game? Incredibly annoying! At least offer the option for the complete dictionary. Also, the dictionary needs to be kept up to date with the TWL. Scrabble has a teacher mode that shows what you missed. That would be a nice feature here, but not a necessity. The QU tile gets annoying as well, but its true to the original game. Each round of improvements are typically well done and appreciated.

Computer play is great for practicing. App is very well done, just like playing the board game, but better!

I absolutely love playing Upwords! However I do have a couple of complaints. Ive noticed a couple of words that are incorrect English are acceptable, Four example, Deers. It is really irritating if it causes you to lose a game. I also frequently have very uneven letter distribution... meaning ten plays will go by and I will get one vowel, or conversely, all vowels. By then you are so far behind it is nearly impossible to even make a challenge. I have no objection to losing, but that part happens all too frequently.

played this years ago online via email and a game center, then bith went away; missed it alot; better than scrabble i thought just found the app, and its as enjoyable as ever
